The San Jose Sharks have made a move placing one of their defenseman on the waiver wire.
San Jose Sharks Place MacDonald On Waivers
According to insider Chris Johnston, the Sharks have officially placed defenseman-turned-forward Jacob MacDonald on waivers.
Placed on NHL waivers today: Zach Sanford (CHI) and Jacob MacDonald (SJ).
MacDonald has played 22 games this season, tallying six goals and one assist. Despite facing injuries, he was ready to make an impact after the All-Star break.
In other news, Mason Morelli made a strong NHL debut, but the Sharks fell 4-0 to the Golden Knights.
The team awaits the return of Givani Smith, necessitating a roster spot. Although Smith remains on injured reserve, he has been practicing with the team since the break. He even traveled with the team to Calgary and Winnipeg, though he didn't play.
With the Sharks not playing until Saturday, there's speculation about potential behind-the-scenes moves.
Do you think MacDonald gets claimed?
