Since five players were convicted for the 2018 World Junior Championship (WJC) scandal, the hockey world has been wondering about their futures in the sport. One of these players, Michael McLeod, might be heading east.

After the scandal, all five players involved—Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, Alex Formenton, Dillon Dube, and Carter Hart—took leaves of absence from their respective teams.
Today, a rumor emerged that Michael McLeod could be signing with a KHL team for next season, as no NHL team wants to be associated with him.
Add #NJDevils Michael McLeod name floating around #KHL - saying that he is in negotiations with Metallurg.

Just a rumor for now, we'll keep an eye on it.

However, there are logistical issues since McLeod would need to leave the KHL midseason to attend his court case in North America.
With his court case taking place during next season's [KHL] playoffs, hard to see a team take him knowing he'd have to leave to go back to North America during them.

While nothing is confirmed yet, this situation will be interesting to follow moving forward.
