We are saddened to report the passing of former NHLer Chris Simon at the age of 52.

Stanley Cup Champion Chris Simon Passes Away At 52 Years Old

According to reports, former Stanley Cup champion Chris Simon has taken his own life.
Hearing former NHL tough guy Chris Simon has taken his own life. Another enforcer lost to suicide and possibly CTE. But let's keep fighting in the sport /s.
Chris Simon, known for his tough style of play, was selected 25th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1990 NHL draft. Over his NHL career, he played 782 games, scoring 144 goals and tallying 305 points. He also accumulated an impressive 1,824 penalty minutes.
Simon played for several teams during his career, including the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Calgary Flames, New York Islanders, and Minnesota Wild.
"I regret to inform you that NHL alumnus Chris Simon has passed away at the age of 52.

Simon played 782 games in the NHL from 1993-2008 with Quebec, Colorado, Washington, Chicago, New York (R), New York (I), Calgary, and Minnesota, registering 144 goals and 305 points in that span.

He was a one-time Stanley Cup Champion (1996)."
His last professional stint was with Novokuznetsk Metallurg in the KHL during the 2012-13 season.
