Fans have long been upset with the quality of Fanatics jerseys, the league's official manufacturer. Many argue that these jerseys don't live up to the standards set by previous brands like Reebok and Adidas. The main complaints center on the material being too thin and not durable enough for long-term use. Some fans have even reported that stitching and logos peel off after just a few wears or washes.
Beyond the flimsy materials, fans are also frustrated with the lack of attention to detail. Many have pointed out issues like inconsistent sizing, mismatched colors, and embarrassing design flaws. Beniers recently took part in a team skate where his jersey completely ripped, further fueling fan outrage over the poor quality of Fanatics products.
Despite these issues, the jerseys remain expensive, with prices similar to the Adidas jerseys they replaced. Fans are now calling for a return to better craftsmanship and a focus on quality, hoping the NHL will reconsider its partnership with Fanatics. Many believe paying a bit more for a well-made jersey would be worth it compared to the current subpar offerings.
