"Fame and stardom aside, John was a quiet and simple person. Spending time with his loved ones was what he cared about most. His family members were his best friends, and his best friends were considered family. In addition to his excellent 10-year NHL career, he loved all types of competition: men's softball league in the summer, backyard cornhole, darts in the garage, betting hole by hole during a golf round, card games, or racing at word search puzzles. He made everything more fun, and there was always something on the line to play for. And he always won."
The funeral will take place on Monday, the 9th, at 12 PM CST, and will be livestreamed so fans can pay their respects from anywhere in the world.
