Major controversy has erupted involving the Canadian Soccer Federation, and now Team Canada may be stripped of their gold medal over cheating allegations.

Coaching staff and contractors for the Canadian men's and women's national soccer teams have reportedly been caught spying on their opponents for years. The biggest scandal surrounds the women's gold-medal-winning Olympic tournament in 2021, where they were allegedly filming closed-door training sessions of other countries.
There was another incident in July 2022 where the women's team filmed Panama as they attempted to qualify for the Women's World Cup in Australia.
Canada's men's and women's soccer teams have relied on drones and spying for years, sources say

Coaching staff and contractors working with Canada's men's and women's national soccer teams have been engaged for years in efforts to film the closed-door training sessions of their opponents, including during the women's gold-medal winning Olympic tournament in 2021, sources told TSN.
The men's team is also involved in this cheating scandal. It was determined that Canada used drones to record a U.S. training session during a November 15, 2019 game in Florida. Canada lost that game 4-1.
Two years after the U.S. incident, a drone was spotted over the Honduras team, forcing them to stop their training session in Toronto for fear of being recorded.
FIFA will be launching an investigation into these allegations. If Canada is found guilty, they risk forfeiting any medals they have won, including the gold.
