Former QMJHL goaltender Creed Jones has tragically passed away at the age of 24, as confirmed by his former team.

Jones played for three different teams in the QMJHL during his junior career before moving on to play college hockey at the University of Ottawa. He spent most of his junior career with the Gatineau Olympiques, appearing in 64 games over three seasons. The Olympiques announced his passing on their official X account (translated from French):
It is with great sadness that the Gatineau Olympic organization learned of the death of one of our alumni, Creed Jones. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones. 💔
Fans quickly expressed their condolences to Jones, his family, and the team. One fan shared a photo of Jones in a match against the Quebec Remparts:
A photo I took of Creed Jones about 5 years ago. 🥅
Wow in shock

My condolences to his entire family and to the organization of the Olympics
The Sherbrooke Phoenix, another QMJHL team, also shared their condolences:
All our sympathies to his family, friends and former teammates as well as to the big Olympic family 💐
Jones also played 24 games with the Rimouski Oceanic and five games with the Saint John Sea Dogs during his QMJHL career. He posted a record of 27-47-8 and recorded two shutouts, both with the Rimouski Oceanic in the 2019-20 season. Creed Jones will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Creed.
