An NHL referee unluckily got struck by the puck in the midsection during game 6 of the Stanley Cup playoffs between the Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers.
The NHL playoffs have been a grueling two-month grind for the players as they compete for the Stanley Cup. It takes an immense toll on both mind and body. While the players endure the most, the referees also face a tough challenge.
Linesman Devin Berg has experienced more pain in the last two months than his peers in the black and white stripes. Berg officiated Game 3 of the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars first-round matchup, where he was struck in the face by a puck, requiring some repairs.

Berg's bad luck continued last night during the Florida Panthers' elimination of the New York Rangers in Game 6. In the third period, Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues was dumping the puck into the Rangers' zone when it struck Berg in a rather sensitive area. Berg immediately went down in pain, and Rodrigues' reaction showed he knew it did some damage.
