The Buffalo Sabres made an announcement regarding a trade involving forward Filip Cederqvist. They have traded the 23-year-old 6ft3 winger to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for future considerations.

Cederqvist has spent the current season playing in 55 games for the Rochester Americans, where he contributed nine goals and 11 assists. Selected by the Sabres in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft, he has accumulated 24 points (10 goals and 14 assists) in 74 career AHL games with Rochester. Additionally, Cederqvist notched three points (0 goals and 3 assists) in eight postseason games in 2023.
