The Montreal Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj could be on the trade market and we believe he would be a great fit with a precise Stanley Cup contender.
The Canadiens are currently exploring offers for a trade involving the defenseman, and several teams are reportedly kicking the tires.
When you analyze the Oilers' lineup, Xhekaj is a perfect candidate to solidify their bottom pair.
He's physical, quite solid defensively, and perfect for the playoffs. Plus, his salary is low, making him ideal for Edmonton's tight cap situation.

Xhekaj is currently playing on an affordable $1.3 million cap hit through the end of this season.
Despite the hype, Xhekaj hasn't been able to emerge as a full-time NHLer in Montreal lately. He often finds himself as the sixth or seventh defenseman in Martin St-Louis' rotation.
The undrafted player has his share of on-ice issues, particularly with consistency in his own zone.
However, he possesses that undeniable x-factor. He can force the opponents to play differently when he's on the ice, providing a layer of protection that superstars like Connor McDavid would certainly appreciate.
And although he has struggled in his fights this season, he can still bring it when the temperature rises in a series.
Xhekaj is a massive fan favorite in Montreal. He won't be easily replaced.
But there is a logjam on the blue line that could become a problem for management.
If the return is worth it, Kent Hughes could make it happen before the March 6 deadline.
For the Oilers, adding that grit for a deep run makes too much sense to ignore.
The move would give Edmonton a much-needed physical presence without breaking the bank.
