The New York Rangers have officially pulled the trigger on a trade acquiring a the center they've been coveting for the last week or so.
New York Rangers Acquire Alex Wennberg
The Seattle Kraken have traded center Alex Wennberg to the New York Rangers for a couple of draft picks.
Full trade, per sources:
To #NYR: Alex Wennberg (50% retained)
To #SeaKraken: 2024 2nd Rd Pick, 2025 DAL 4th Rd Pick

Wennberg has been sidelined from the lineup due to trade-related matters, causing him to miss Monday night's game against the Calgary Flames.
At 29 years old, he's in the last season of a three-year, $13.5 million contract with a $4.5 million cap hit, set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Originally part of the Kraken expansion roster in the 2021-22 season, Wennberg has recorded nine goals and 25 points in 60 games with the Kraken this season.
