Today, the Buffalo Sabres and Edmonton Oilers executed a significant trade, with Ryan McLeod heading to Buffalo in exchange for former top-10 pick Matt Savoie.
Reports indicate that the Buffalo Sabres have acquired Ryan McLeod in exchange for top prospect Matt Savoie from the Edmonton Oilers.

The trade currently involves Ryan McLeod and forward prospect Ty Tullio going to Buffalo in exchange for Matt Savoie.

Buffalo Sabres' GM Kevyn Adams had been seeking forward help for weeks and sees Ryan McLeod as filling a top-six role.
For the Oilers, Matt Savoie instantly becomes one of their top forward prospects. Returning to the West where he played in the WHL, Savoie is expected to start in the AHL but could see NHL action with Edmonton as early as this season.
