Edmonton Oilers trade former first round draft pick to the Eastern Conference

The Ottawa Senators have traded forward Roby Jarventie and a 2025 fourth-round pick to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forwards Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson.

Bourgault was 22'd overall pick in 2021. Jarventie was 33'd overall pick in 2020.
Xavier Bourgault, drafted 22nd overall by the Oilers in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, is 21 years old. He played the 2023-24 season with the Bakersfield Condors, Edmonton's AHL affiliate, scoring eight goals and 12 assists in 55 games. In his AHL career, Bourgault has 21 goals and 33 assists over 117 games.
Jake Chiasson, also drafted by Edmonton in 2021 (116th overall), is 21 years old. Last season, he played mostly with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL, tallying nine goals and 11 assists in 68 games. Chiasson made his AHL debut with the Bakersfield Condors on April 20, contributing to a 5-3 victory over the Henderson Silver Knights.
Roby Jarventie, drafted 33rd overall by the Senators in 2020, is heading to Edmonton. The 21-year-old forward spent most of his season with Ottawa's AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators, where he recorded nine goals and 11 assists in 22 games. Jarventie made his NHL debut on November 4 against the Tampa Bay Lightning and registered his first NHL point with an assist in seven games.
