The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to be very active in the coming days and it's rumored they are closing in on a trade with the San Jose Sharks.

According to a new rumor, the Toronto Maple Leafs and San Jose Sharks are close to finalizing a trade that would give Timothy Liljegren a fresh start. With the off-season in full swing and a flurry of recent deals, it seems the activity won't be slowing down anytime soon. Rumors about Liljegren's departure from Toronto have intensified over the past week, suggesting his time with the Maple Leafs may be ending.
Hockey 24/7 on X reports that the Maple Leafs and Sharks are nearing a deal to send Liljegren to San Jose in exchange for Mario Ferraro and other pieces.

I should note that Hockey 24/7 has a mixed track record with trades and rumors. However, considering that Liljegren is likely on his way out, this trade makes sense and benefits both sides. Liljegren would get a fresh start and more playing time in San Jose, which would be good for his development. Ferraro, meanwhile, has been linked to the Maple Leafs for some time and would be a valuable addition to their lineup.
