Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned hockey brawl? When Brad Marchand is involved, everything becomes a bit more entertaining. That's exactly what we got in Buffalo tonight as an altercation involving Marchand lead to fisticuffs on the ice.

Bruins Respond After Massive Dahlin Hip Check On Marchand

As the Sabres hosted the Bruins tonight, one seemingly innocuous moment led to multiple players getting penalties. Sabres Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin went to dump the puck around the boards when he noticed Brad Marchand coming to make a hit on him. As a result, he quickly reversed course and laid a big reverse hip check on the Bruins forward.
Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy did not take too kindly to the hit as he immediately went after Dahlin in what appeared to be an attempt to fight him. Neither Dahlin or Marchand received penalties on the play, but both teams saw players head to the box for roughing.

Struggling Sabres Lose Another Important Game

Dahlin and the Sabres are currently looking to break an 11 year playoff drought for the city of Buffalo. Unfortunately for them, the Bruins handily defeated them in this one 5-2, lowering Buffalo's record to 7-8-1 and increasing Boston's gawdy record to 12-1-2. Many fans in Buffalo are already getting concerned as they have seen this movie before.
The concern is very reasonable as the Sabres have yet to click as a team. Their goaltending situation is questionable at best and the offense has not produced consistently.
The Sabres next take on the Jets in Winnipeg this Friday.
