Just when it seemed like the Calgary Flames couldn't face any more adversity, their situation took a turn for the worse.

Calgary Flames' Defenseman Officially Requests a Trade
Following the Flames' 5-4 overtime defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs last night, defenseman Nikita Zadorov's agent took to social media to post a surprising message along with a video of the goal.
"Here comes Zadorov train get your #LeafsForever tickets today #WeAreGoldStar!"
In response to this post, someone inquired whether the Flames could retain Zadorov. His agent, Dan Milstein, was straightforward in his response.
"I don't think so. Not when the best D barely gets the ice time"

"Fresh off a goal and big hit tonight against the @MapleLeafs, I'm told that D Zadorov through his agent @GoldStarHockey Dan Milstein has requested a trade from the @NHLFlames. #HockeyTwitter"
According to Sportsnet, both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks have expressed interest in acquiring Zadorov, although it's likely that many other teams will also enter the derby. Zadorov is currently earning $3.75 million and is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season.
