This move certainly doesn't come as a result of Perry's lack of authority and respect, as he's earned that throughout his career, but it may have ultimately been a major spoiler from the veteran.
The Blackhawks are an original six team in the NHL, but over their time in the NHL, they've retired just six numbers, but given who wore No. 10 for them over the past 17 seasons, it appears another will be added to that list.
The player wearing that number was Patrick Sharp, who was with the team from 2006 to 2018, playing in 749 games while scoring 249 goals and 532 points while leading them to three Stanley Cups with his incredible playoff performances, and while nothing is official, things could certainly be heading that way soon.
