A new report came out today that suggests Colorado Avalanche forward Fredrick Olofsson will be leaving to return to Europe unless he is offered a one-way NHL deal next season.
Olofsson to sign with Swiss team if Avalanche do not offer one-way extension
According to Colorado Hockey Now reporter Evan Rawal, Avalanche center Fredrick Olofsson will be leaving the NHL to sign in the Swiss pro league next season. The only thing that could keep him in North America would be if he gets a one-way offer from an NHL club for the 2024-25 season.
According to Expressen, Olofsson, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, will head to Switzerland to play for EV Zug next seasonunless he gets a one-way deal in the NHL. The publication reports that the two parties are deep in negotiations and a one-way NHL contract is the only thing that could stop the transfer from happening. Olofsson does not currently have a one-way deal with the Avalanche.
