Colorado Avalanche right winger Valeri Nichushkin, who entered stage three of the NHL's player assistance program earlier this season, hopes to be reinstated by November.

Nichushkin has been away from the Avalanche and the NHL since he joined the program. At stage three, he was unable to participate in any team activities for six months and will need to apply for reinstatement before returning.
Recent reports, including insights from Sergey Fedotov, a former Russian National team scout, suggest that Nichushkin may be ready to return.
However, this news should be approached with caution. Since stage three requires him to apply for reinstatement, the final decision on his return is not entirely within his control.
The Avalanche certainly missed Nichushkin's presence. Before his absence, he had nine goals and ten points in eight games and a total of 63 points in 62 games last season. When he returns, he is expected to be a key player in the Avalanche lineup.
