After a bright start to his NHL career at a late age, it has now been revealed that Pavel Francouz's promising career may be coming to an early end.
Unfortunately, that injury could now see the end of his playing career, as reported by Avalanche Insider Meghan Angley;
Chris MacFarland described Pavel Francouz's situation as akin to retirement based on the nature/timing of his injury. Said he's not currently planning to ramp up to return to play.
After three straight seasons with a GAA under 2.65, the Avalanche believed they'd found a key piece of their goaltending group for years to come, but unfortunately, things aren't looking promising. Francouz reportedly revealed that he's not planning on ramping up a return from this injury to play, which isn't a good sign, so we hope things can change soon.
More details to follow if/when an official announcement comes from Francouz or the Avalanche organization.
