Early in tonight's game between the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche, Nathan MacKinnon hit Chris Tanev, knocking him out of the game.
At the trade deadline, the Dallas Stars sought a shutdown defenseman to counter high-scoring offenses. They brought in Chris Tanev, who has performed well so far.
However, in game four of their series against the Avalanche, Tanev had to leave early after a big hit from Ross Colton. Tanev didn't return after this hit, possibly as a precaution due to the Stars' large lead.
Chris Tanev didn't play another shift after this hit by Ross Colton, although it may have been precautionary, given the large lead.
In game five tonight, Tanev left the ice again following a hit from Nathan MacKinnon.
Chris Tanev took a big hit from Ross Colton near end of Game 4 and stayed off the ice last 2 days.
