After their slow start to the 2023-24 season, the Edmonton Oilers look to have turned a page during the Heritage Classic, and now, they're adding a veteran piece to their lineup.
After a PTO this summer, the Oilers have reportedly come to terms with Sam Gagner on a one-year deal as he looks to help this team continue their turnaround.
#Oilers have agreed to terms on a 1-year deal with Sam Gagner: $775,000 cap hit.
Gagner was once the 6th overall pick by the Oilers back in the 2007 draft, with the veteran tallying 317 points in 542 games with the team, and now the 34-year old returns for yet another stint.
The Oilers have struggled for consistency this season, and while this likely won't help their defensive or goaltending issues, it gives them great depth up front, something they sorely need after the injury issues they've had over the past few years.
