Leon Draisaitl is regularly considered one of the best players in the NHL today. In his ten-year career, he has recorded a staggering 850 points in 719 games. Now at 28 years old and with only one year left on his contract with the Edmonton Oilers, he stands to earn far more than his current $8.5 million annual salary.
However, Draisaitl appears to be planning even further ahead than his career in the NHL. In a recent post on Instagram, the burgeoning German indoor soccer league Icon League shared a video that Leon Draisaitl has joined forces with Peruvian National player Claudio Pizarro, becoming co-owners of the FC Plyrs.
Though he will not be part of the team in an athletic capacity, Draisaitl will likely become a major influence on the FC Plyrs. Hopefully, his investment pays off and will not impede his ability to perform in the NHL.
