The New York Islanders will be without one of their key forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau for game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.
The Islanders faced uncertainty regarding their lineup for Game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes, with the question of whether centerman Jean-Gabriel Pageau would play looming large.
Islanders head coach Patrick Roy addressed the situation on Saturday morning, stating.
"He's still day to day with a lower-body injury. We will know after warm-ups. He will be a game-time decision," Islanders head coach Patrick Roy said on Saturday morning.
Pageau sustained the injury during the first period of their regular-season finale against the Pittsburgh Penguins, a game with no playoff implications. The absence of Pageau, a key player, was a significant blow to the Islanders and their fans.
