Brady Tkachuk, captain of the Ottawa Senators, is under fire following an incident in Saturday night's game against the New Jersey Devils. Criticism arose over his response to Nico Hischier scoring into the empty net after the whistle had blown.

In the final moments, Devils captain Nico Hischier attempted to score on the Senators empty net after the buzzer had sounded. Tkachuk reacted strongly, charging at Hischier and inciting a brief scuffle between the teams.
Tkachuk's response drew attention on social media, with many pointing out perceived hypocrisy. Earlier in the season, the Senators were involved in a similar situation when Ridley Greig scored on the empty net of the Toronto Maple Leafs, resulting in a suspension for Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly.
The incident has sparked debate over whether Tkachuk's actions were justified or hypocritical.
