Russian goalie Ivan Fedotov might finally kickstart his NHL career with the Philadelphia Flyers now that his KHL contract has been terminated and multiple reports suggest his NHL suspension will be lifted by commissionner Gary Bettman.

Everyone's being very careful here for obvious reasons, but it is believed Fedotov is en route to beginning his NHL career for the Flyers. Wasn't aware until news broke this morning, but all sides have worked on a solution for the last few weeks.
Fedotov, who was playing for CSKA Moscow despite being under contract with the Flyers, and against an International Ice Hockey Federation ruling from August, has had his Russian contract ended, according to a tweet from the Russian league.
The towering 27-year-old goalie, drafted by the Flyers in 2015, inked a one-year deal with the club in May 2022. However, in July 2022, he was unable to leave his country due to allegations of evading military service, causing him to miss the entire 2022-23 season.
The Flyers then extended Fedotov's contract until the start of the 2023-24 season, but CSKA Moscow surprised by signing him to a new two-year deal in July. The Flyers appealed to the IIHF, which ruled in August that CSKA Moscow's deal violated regulations since Fedotov had a valid contract with the NHL club. CSKA and Fedotov's appeal of that decision was denied in December.
Fedotov, a Finnish-born Russian, had a decent season with CSKA, tallying a record of 21-22-1, along with a 2.57 goals-against average and .916 save percentage.
