The St. Louis Blues have announced a change in their ownership. David Steward, a founding member of the group that bought the Blues in 2012, has transferred his ownership stake to Michael W. Riney, a lifelong St. Louis resident.

This keeps the team's ownership entirely local. Blues Chairman Tom Stillman thanked Steward for his long-term support and welcomed Riney to the group.
«Dave Steward was a key member of the St. Louis-based ownership group that we assembled in 2012,» said Stillman. «His support has been steadfast ever since, and we are grateful for Dave's commitment to the Blues and to St. Louis. We are pleased to welcome Michael Riney to our ownership group. Like all members of the group, Michael has a passion for the Blues and a strong commitment to St. Louis. The rest of the group will remain the same as we work toward a successful 2024-25 season.»
Michael Riney, the Founder and Managing Director of QRM Capital, is deeply involved in private investments and philanthropy in St. Louis with his wife, Quirsis. They support many local organizations, and Michael serves on the boards of Washington University, the Danforth Plant Science Center, and the Missouri Botanical Garden.
With Riney joining, the Blues' ownership team stays strong as they aim for a successful 2024-25 season. The group includes other notable locals such as Donn Lux, Jerald Kent, and James Cooper.
