The Maple Leafs have announced that Ilya Samsonov has been officially placed on waivers.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed goaltender Ilya Samsonov on waivers.
Rocking a .862 save percentage for the worst in the NHL, this is no surprise. He last appeared for the Maple Leafs on December 29th, surrendering a 6 goals in an overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
If Samsonov clears, he'll report to AHL Toronto.
AHL Toronto recalled Luke Cavallin from ECHL Newfoundland. Meaning, should Samsonov clear tomorrow, Dennis Hildeby may be going with the Maple Leafs on their California trip
According to insider Elliotte Friedman, it looks like Hildeby will be joining the Maple Leafs on their upcoming California road trip to replace the struggling Samsonov.
