Wes McCauley Sheds Light on the Controversial Non Penalty Decision Against the Leafs
Liljegren Forced to Leave the Game Due to Controversial Play by Marchand
Last night,
Timothy Liljegren found himself on the receiving end of another questionable play by
Brad Marchand. The incident was severe enough to force Liljegren to exit the game after Marchand placed his stick between Liljegren's legs, leading to an awkward fall against the boards.
The well-known and often controversial referee Wes McCauley received a lot of blame after he chose not to call a penalty for the incident.
McCauley Gives Bad Explanations for Missed Call to Keefe
The next video shows that McCauley had a clear view of the incident:
Keefe asked him to explain his decision and McCauley's explanations were simply awful:
"I got nothing," said Keefe. "They didn't see the stick go between his legs for the can opener to make him go feet-first into the boards in the most dangerous area of the ice. He didn't see it."
It's worth noting that McCauley and Keefe share a personal history, which may be influencing the referee's decision-making during Maple Leafs' games.
Do you think McCauley should be fired, considering his bias against the Maple Leafs?
