The Toronto Maple Leafs have called up nine players from the Marlies, including Dennis Hildeby, Kyle Clifford, and Topi Niemela, ahead of Game 6 against the Boston Bruins.
The move comes as the Leafs gear up for another must-win showdown.
Despite the Marlies' playoff exit, this influx of players is a common practice when AHL teams finish their season.
Among those called up are Alex Steeves, Marshall Rifai, Maxime Lajoie, Mikko Kokkonen, Dylan Gambrell, and Nick Abruzzese.

According to David Alter, it's standard for AHL players on two-way contracts to get called up by their NHL affiliates after their postseason ends.
"This isn't anything. It's common for teams to call up their entire roster of NHL contracted players when the minor-league team is done."
While the lineup for Game 6 is likely to remain unchanged from the previous victory in Boston, these call-ups provide depth and options should injuries arise or if a seventh game becomes necessary. Stay tuned for updates.
