Mitch Marner is likely to be traded this offseason, and a new rumor claims he is limiting Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving to a few teams he would agree to join.
Marner's contract ends after the 2024-25 season, making him an unrestricted free agent for the first time. Due to this, a trade is very likely, but Marner has a no-trade clause that allows him to reject any trade.
According to the rumor, Marner has given Treliving a list of nine teams he would accept a trade to:
According to [redacted], whose son [redacted] has the same agent (Darren Ferris) as Mitch Marner, Marner has submitted a list of 9 teams that he would be willing to be traded to. Take it for what it's worth.
If this is true, Treliving will be limited to negotiating with about a third of the NHL to find the best deal for the Maple Leafs.
Only time will tell if this rumor is accurate, but it adds to the uncertainty and possibilities surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs this offseason.
