The Philadelphia Flyers are unsure what to do with NHL veteran Cam Atkinson, who carries a $5.875 million cap hit. The San Jose Sharks have offered a trade, but Atkinson has declined.
According to top NHL insider Darren Dreger, the Sharks showed interest in trading for the 770-game veteran. Atkinson, a sixth-round pick, has had an impressive career, including a 40-goal season and multiple 60-point seasons. However, at 35, he is no longer the player he once was.
Despite this, Atkinson's veteran presence makes sense for the Sharks. However, Dreger reports that Atkinson does not want to be traded to San Jose.
