Vegas Golden Knights forward officially leaving the team for the KHL

Byron Froese, a veteran of both the NHL and AHL, has signed a deal outside of North America for the 2024-25 season.
After more than 10 seasons bouncing between the AHL and NHL, Byron Froese is seeking more stability. He has signed a one-year contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the KHL.

Froese, a 33-year-old center, played 16 games with the Vegas Golden Knights last season and another 53 with the Henderson Silver Knights in the AHL. Drafted in the fourth round by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2009, Froese has also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, and Calgary Flames during his NHL career.
Froese played 56 games with the Leafs in 2015-16, his most in one NHL season. In total, he has played 141 regular-season NHL games, scoring seven goals and 13 points. He also played 513 games in the AHL, amassing 312 points (142G, 170A).
