Alex Ovechkin's First DC Home Available For Lease
Have you ever wondered what the homes of NHL legends look like? Have you ever wanted to have an active NHL legend be your landlord? All of your dreams could be coming true if you live in the DC area.
Alex Ovechkin Offers Home For Lease In DC
Ovechkin has secured many off-ice deals throughout his career to supplement his NHL salary. From Endorsement deals with Nike and Bauer to real estate, the legendary hockey player isn't going to be short on cash anytime soon.
Now his first home in Arlington Virginia is up for lease as his previous tenant, Erik Gustafsson, is no longer with the Capitals. While the property may seem modest compared to his current dwelling, don't expect to get it for cheap. Ovechkin is reportedly asking 9,000 USD per month for rent. For a NHL veteran like Erik Gustafsson that may be just a drop in the bucket but for the rest of us it is a steep price to pay.

For that price you get a half acre of private land, 5,000+ square feet, five bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and the honor of living in the home of one of the best to ever play in the NHL.
The Sotheby's International Realty's listing page lists the full plethora of features:
"This Georgian home boasts over 5000+ sqft of luxury space and amenities including a sauna, new deck, Viking & Monogram appliances and a VERY private lot while being walking distance to Ballston. 5 Bedrooms including a main-level bedroom, vaulted ceilings and tasteful crown moldings. Chef's kitchen with large island, granite countertops, hi-end appliances. 12 FT+ ceilings, walk-out basement with wet bar downstairs and large primary bedroom/bath wing with double vanity sinks, walk-in closets & a soaking tub. Large 2-car oversized garage with gym-ready flooring, sauna room & large fenced-in backyard backing to trees."
If you are expecting to meet Ovechkin in the process of renting his home though don't get your hopes up as the property is managed by a renting agency.
