In breaking news, after being placed on waivers yesterday afternoon by the Washington Capitals, star forward Evgeny Kuznetsov will be reporting to a new team.
According to Frank Seravalli, he is believed to be the highest salaried player ever rostered in the AHL. Kuznetsov remains sidelined from game action as he's yet to be cleared through the Player Assistance Program.
Once a top-line center, Kuznetsov's performance has declined notably in recent seasons. Last year, he dropped from 78 points to 55, and this season has been even tougher with just six goals and 11 assists in 43 games despite increased ice time.
