A 6-foot-8 rookie wasted no time making a name for himself as he got into a fight in his first NHL shift with New York Islanders forward Matt Martin.

6-Foot-8 Rookie Monster Matthew Rempe Fights In His First NHL Shift

Matthew Rempe, a towering presence at six-foot-eight and 240 pounds, made his NHL debut for the New York Rangers in a game against the New York Islanders and wasted no time in making his mark.

Shortly after the Rangers scored an early goal, Rempe grabbed everyone's attention. As the teams lined up at center ice for the faceoff, Rempe, without hesitation, dropped his gloves with Matt Martin, a veteran of over 900 NHL games, who plays for the Islanders. The two engaged in a spirited bout, exchanging solid punches before being separated. Rempe's right-hand blow to Martin's head around 18 seconds into the altercation left a noticeable impact.

First NHL shift and first NHL Fight in front of 70,000 people.
