Another year of NHL hockey means, among other things, another year of unfortunate injuries. Tonight we saw one such injury as one of Montreal's promising young forwards had to leave the game early.
Dach Injured In Game Against Former Team
The Canadiens are currently leading the Blackhawks 3-0 but they are playing down one forward as the game goes into the third period. Center Kirby Dach sustained a leg injury in the first period and the team quickly updated us, stating that he would not return to the match.
Dach appeared to sustain the injury when he was hit by Jarred Tinordi, who sent him flying into the Blackhawks bench late in the 1st period.
The young center stayed on the bench momentarily after the hit before he eventually went down the tunnel with his trainer. He appeared to be favoring his left side.
While Dach has not lived up to expectations after being drafted 3rd overall, he could still be a big part of the Canadiens' future. Hopefully this injury will not keep him out long term.
