Things got heated in Winnipeg tonight as the Jets hosted the Panthers in their home opener. It was an eventful game as the Jets managed to hang on for a 6-4 victory. Early in the third period though Matthew Tkachuk took on Mark Scheifele in a brief but intense fight.
Scheifele Completes Gordie Howe Hat Trick
It was just Scheifele's 4th career fight but as he had already recorded a goal and an assist, he managed to complete his second career Gordie Howe Hat Trick, tying him with Mr. Hockey in that regard.

Scheifele challenged Tkachuk after the Panthers forward hit the Jets veteran in a way he wasn't a big fan of.

The Jets are now 1-1 as they look to prove they can be serious cup contenders after an embarrassing first round exit against Vegas last year.
