BREAKING: Matt Rempe Facing Major Suspension Following His Ejection For Dirty Hit
Tonight, New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe finds himself in hot water once again. This time, his actions during the game against the New Jersey Devils may lead to a suspension.
Rempe Facing Suspension For Hit The Head
In the heat of tonight's rivalry matchup, Rempe engaged in a back-and-forth exchange with enforcer
Kurtis MacDermid early in the game.
However, things escalated when Rempe delivered a vicious hit to Devils defenseman
Jonas Siegenthaler, elbowing him in the head along the boards. This resulted in a 5-minute penalty for elbowing and a game misconduct for Rempe.
Following the hit, MacDermid attempted to retaliate against Rempe, earning himself a 10-minute misconduct penalty.
Rempe's ejection marks his second in just over a month, raising the possibility of a suspension from the NHL as a message to rein in his behavior. Any suspension is likely to be relatively short, aimed at reminding Rempe to play within the rules.
Stay tuned for updates on Rempe's impending punishment as more information becomes available.
