During the first period of the Allen Americans College Classic tournament game between University of North Texas and East Texas Baptist University on Saturday, an altercation occurred among some fans in the stands, resulting in the game being called off early. UNT was in the lead with a score of 1-0 when the incident took place.
Following the disturbance, the University of North Texas released a statement regarding the matter.
during today's game between UNT and ETBU, a physical altercation occurred in the stands right behind the Mean Green bench between a UNT fan, extra ETBU players and ETBU's head coach. The UNT hockey team had no involvement, and ETBU's actions were unjustified. Further actions have been taken due to this, and we will provide more information at a later date. No further comments will be made available at this time
