Former Boston Bruins goalie Keith Kinkaid has signed a new contract with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL, the affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Kinkaid, who was recently on a professional tryout with the New York Islanders, was released from that opportunity.
However, the 35-year-old veteran is keeping his hockey career going by securing a deal in the AHL. He previously spent last season with the Chicago Wolves, where he struggled, posting an 8-14-2 record, a .880 save percentage, and a 3.54 goals-against average (GAA). These numbers made it difficult for him to find an NHL contract.
Although Kinkaid only played one game for the Boston Bruins during the 2022-23 season he performed well earning a win & allowing only one goal. Unfortunately he had a tougher time with the Providence Bruins finishing the season with an 8-7-4 record, a .909 save % & a 3.10 GAA in 20 games.
Despite these challenges Kinkaid is continuing to chase his hockey dreams with his new AHL contract.
