Lindy Ruff has reportedly landed a new NHL coaching job according to insider Elliotte Friedman.
After a disappointing season with the New Jersey Devils, Lindy Ruff lost his job as head coach on March 4, 2024. Travis Green was named as the interim head coach in his place.
Ruff's tenure in New Jersey spanned four seasons, during which the team made the playoffs just once, finishing with a record of 128-125-28.
However, Ruff has swiftly found a new job opportunity. According to Elliotte Friedman, he is set to return to the Buffalo Sabres, where he previously spent 15 years.
Let's confirm this: Lindy Ruff will be the next head coach of the Buffalo Sabres, returning to the team he led from 1997-2103.

Ruff, the last coach to lead the Sabres to the playoffs, aims to repeat that success. The Sabres currently hold the longest playoff drought in NHL history. With 864 wins, Ruff ranks as the fourth-winningest coach in NHL history.
Do you think Lindy Ruff coaching the Buffalo Sabres is a good fit?
