NCAA star free agent Jaxon Nelson signs with the Boston Bruins

The NCAA season is coming to a close and the free agent activity has picked up. The most recent signing is Jaxon Nelson who has decided to sign with the Boston Bruins.

The Boston Bruins have inked 24-year-old free agent Jaxon Nelson to an NHL contract beginning in the 2024-25 season.
The #NHLBruins have signed forward Jaxon Nelson to a one-year, entry-level contract.
Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 220 pounds, Nelson, a forward, served as captain for the University of Minnesota during the 2023-24 season. He played in 39 games, notching 19 goals and 12 assists, totaling a career-best 31 points. Initially, he will join the Bruins' AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, on an amateur tryout contract before transitioning to the NHL with the main club next season.
«Jaxon is a big, right shot, two-way center with leadership qualities as captain of a very successful collegiate program," said Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney in a prepared statement. "He has shown consistent growth throughout his time at the University of Minnesota and the Bruins are excited to have Jaxon join our organization.»
