Nick Ritchie's Hockey Career Reaches All-Time Low
The Iserlohn Roosters of the German DEL have announced they won't bring back Nick Ritchie next season, making him a UFA, as reported by HockeyWorldwide on Instagram.
Ritchie initially aimed to secure an NHL contract, attending the St. Louis Blues' training camp on a PTO. However, halfway through camp, the Blues released him, making him a free agent again.
Later, Ritchie joined Karpat in Finland's top division, Liiga, but his tenure was marred by an eight-game suspension for punching a defenseless opponent. Karpat eventually told him to explore other opportunities. Ritchie then played eight games with Iserlohn in Germany.
In ten games with Karpat, Ritchie tallied five points and 70 penalty minutes, while in eight games with Iserlohn, he had two points and eight penalty minutes.
"They were all part of a very special journey and we thank them for their contribution to staying in the league. We wish them all the best for their future careers."
