Phil Kessel last played in the NHL during the 2022-23 season with the Vegas Golden Knights, and now, with several PTO offers being made this week, interest in him may be growing.
In the past 24 hours, we've seen five NHL players, including Kailer Yamamoto, Max Pacioretty, and Pierre-Édouard Bellemare, sign professional tryout deals for training camp.
This wave of signings led Paul Bissonnette, host of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, to suggest that an NHL team should give Kessel a shot.
At 36, Kessel still wants to play, and he holds the NHL ironman streak with 1,064 consecutive games. After scoring 14 goals and 36 points with Vegas last season, he's shown he can still contribute.
With Kessel's experience and scoring ability, there's a good chance an NHL team will give him a chance this season.
