Tragedy strikes the hockey world as 22-year-old Craig Spence passes

Tragic news has emerged from the junior hockey community today. It's with heavy hearts that we share the sad announcement of the passing of 22-year-old Craig Spence from the Blenheim Blades.

In a social media post, the Blenheim Blades confirmed that Craig Spence was involved in a fatal car crash. Throughout his time with the Blenheim Blades, Craig accumulated an impressive 75 points in 36 games.

We regret to inform you that Craig Spence, player for the Blenheim Blades of the PJCHL, has passed away at the age of 22 after being a part of a car crash on the 401.




On behalf of the Ontario Junior Hockey League and our 24 Member Organizations we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of former Georgetown Raider Craig Spence.


We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Craig Spence during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with them as they mourn the loss of a beloved player.

Craig Spence's hockey journey also included stints in the OJHL and the GOJHL. Our hearts go out to his loved ones as they cope with this tragic loss.
