A cottage in Prince Edward Island tragically caught fire over the weekend, resulting in the death of one hockey player and severely injuring three others.
A weekend of fun turned tragic when the cottage they were staying at caught on fire. Noah Latimer of the Cole Harbour Colts in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League sadly passed away, while three others suffered major injuries.
"Three people who escaped the fire were injured, one with serious injuries. Once the fire was extinguished by the fire departments, human remains of one person were discovered inside.
The scene was held by the RCMP and the investigation is ongoing."

Latimer had also played for the Truro Bearcats of the Maritime Hockey League, who confirmed that all four involved in the fire were former players of their team.
We are absolutely heartbroken to hear about the tragic accident involving 4 of our alumni this past weekend resulting in the loss of one of our own.
Noah Latimer played parts of 2 seasons with the Bearcats in 2021/22 and 2022/23.
Rest easy 22, forever in our hearts. ❤️🖤

Noah, born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, spent most of his young career there, also playing in New Brunswick. He competed in both the NSJHL and the MHL.
We extend our deepest condolences to Noah's family and friends during this difficult time.
