Patrick Kane Situation Takes A New Turn With Latest Update

Patrick Kane has had rumors flying around about him all season. Recently some of those rumors have picked back up again. He is expected to return sometime this month which makes his impending signing imminent.

Several teams have been linked to Kane in the past. The main contenders seem to be the Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers, and Colorado Avalanche. There are likely to be others interested as well but those are teams confirmed to have kicked the tires on Kane.

The deciding factor for where Kane signs could come down to one major component.

No one knows what Patrick Kane wants from a contract at the moment. The dollar amount and length that he expects has not been reported.

With this in mind, only one team mentioned before has significant cap space to bring in Kane. The Buffalo Sabres have around four million in cap space. All of the other teams would need to make a move to clear space.

The other teams could work with some of the bottom teams in the NHL who could be incentivized to take on some salary. As the Kane rumors continue to heat up, the hockey world will wait and watch closely for his next destination.
