For the second year in a row, Chicago has entered a fire sale mode with very few players considered safe as the March 3rd trade deadline approaches. However, their efforts are hindered when a highly sought-after player blocks a potential trade to a team that could offer a lucrative return.
Sportsnet's Mark Spector reports that Blackhawks' defenseman Jake McCabe has made some modifications to his no-trade clause but still declined a trade to the Edmonton Oilers.

It is rumoured that McCabe has all of Canada on his no trade list, except for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who he would be willing to be dealt to. It is rumored that the Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins also have interest in McCabe.
