Jakob Chychrun hasn't played a game for the Arizona Coyotes for almost 3 week as he's awaited a trade. Many fans have wondered if a trade would ever happen. Now the Ottawa Senators made the announcement this afternoon that they'd acquired Jakob Chychrun.

Trade alert! The #Sens have acquired defenceman Jakob Chychrun from @ArizonaCoyotes in exchange for a conditional first-round draft pick in '23, a conditional second-round selection in '24 (previously acquired from @Capitals) and a second-round pick in '26. 1/3

Conditions: The '23 1st-round pick is top-5 protected. If met, pick becomes '24 1st-round unprotected. Additionally, should #Sens reach '23 ECF, the 2nd-round pick becomes '24 1st-round top 10-protected. If that condition is met, the pick becomes '25 1st-round unprotected. 2/2

«A defenceman we've coveted, Jakob is big and plays imposing. He possesses a quality skill set; he defends hard and is highly skilled. He uses his heavy shot with accuracy and is effective at creating offence as a threat at the offensive blue line.» - #Sens GM Pierre Dorion. 3/3

It appears that Bill Armstrong may have over played his hand because the return for Chychrun is very light. But after all interested teams chose to go another direction, he has limited options.
